Skill level: Easy

Notes:

This is an easy crochet wrist warmers pattern suitable for confident beginners.

Work wrist warmers to your preferred length and width. *The size I make in the pattern will fit most women, but if not, it’s very easy to customize to whatever size you need. I explain in more detail in the pattern.

The pattern is easily customizable and works well with solid or lightly textured yarn.

Keep your tension relaxed to maintain drape and stretch.

Measurements:

  • Ribbing circumference: 6″ (unstretched), and it can stretch a few inches more.
  • Total length: 5.5″

Sizing & Fit:

These wrist warmers are worked to fit comfortably around the wrist and forearm without being tight.
To adjust height, chain fewer to make it shorter and chain more to make it taller.
To adjust circumstance, simply work more or fewer rows/repeats but just make sure to have an even number of rows.

Tip: Try the wrist warmer on occasionally as you work. Just a quick “wrap and check” ensures a custom fit every time.

Cuff/Ribbing

Row 1: ch 19, 1 sc into second ch from hook and each ch across. Total of 18 sc

Row 2: Turn, ch 1(do not count as a st), 1 sc into the bl of each stitch across. Total of 18 sc

Repeat row 2 until you have 38 rows, or until the cuff fits comfortably around your wrist (not to tight and not too loose). Just make sure your total number of rows is an even number.

After we reach the end of row 38 we’ll connect the ends together. Turn, ch 1, sl st into each st of both ends together across forming a cuff. Turn your cuff inside out so that the bump from the join is on the inside. Do not fasten off. We’ll continue on the rest of the wrist warmer hand panel. Check picture below

Hand panel

Round 1: ch 1(do not count as a st), 1 sc into the end of each row of the cuff around, sl st into the first sc. Total of 38 sc (the total number of sc should match the number of rows in your cuff). Check picture below

Round 2: beg V into the first st, sk next st, *1 V into next st, sk next st* REP from *TO* around, sl st into the third ch. Total of 19 V st. Check picture below

Round 3: sl st into the beg V sp on the previous round, then make beg lace V into that same sp, 1 lace V into each ch 1 sp around, sl st into the third ch. Total of 19 lace V st. Check picture below

Round 4: sl st into the beg lace V sp on the previous round, then make beg lace V into that same sp, 1 lace V into each ch 2 sp around, sl st into the third ch. Total of 19 lace V st. Check picture below

Round 5: sl st into the beg lace V sp on the previous round, then make beg lace V into that same sp, 1 lace V into each ch 2 sp around, sl st into the third ch. Total of 19 lace V st. Check picture below

*Attention notes: If you want to make the hand panel longer, just repeat Round 5 as many times as you like before working the final round (Round 6) in the pattern.

Round 6: sl st into the beg lace V sp on the previous round, then make beg fan ruffle into the same sp, 1 fan ruffle into each ch 2 sp around, sl st into the third ch, cut the yarn and weave all the ends. Total of 19 fan ruffle st. Check picture below

Crochet Around The Cuff/Ribbing Edge

Make slip knot and insert the hook into the slip knot, insert your hook into any sp/the end of the cuff row you prefer, then make a sc, 1 sc into the end of each row of the cuff around, cut the yarn and weave all the end. Total of 38 sc (the total number of sc should match the number of rows in your cuff). Check picture below

That’s it for this wrist warmer. Just make one more piece exactly the same for the other hand.
