Woolly knitted halter top

I was just gifted some beautiful knit collage yarn from a very kind viewer. It’s my first time working with it and it’s gorgeous quality.

It’s been a while since I knitted, and it’s also time for some warm weather clothes. So I took the opportunity to make my first knitted halter top. It has a fuzzy, woolly kind of texture so I named it the woolly halter top.

I often get requests for free patterns in sizes other than small. So, here’s a free written pattern and video tutorial in sizes xs-xxl. Hope you enjoy 🙂

Materials

Stitches used & code

  • k = knit
  • p = purl
  • st = stitch(es)
  • ssk = slip, slip, knit slipped stitches together. A decrease
  • k2tog =knit 2 stitches together. A decrease
  • rs = right side
  • ws = wrong side

Notes:

  • This pattern made as us women’s sizes XS( S, M, L, XL, XXL )
  • The back and the front panel are made the same

Here’s the video tutorial for this haler top

Upper right side ( when you wear it )

Begin adding new yarn and repeat the same pattern when you make the upper left side, but you don’t need to leave the tail.

Joining the pieces together

Take the back and front panel, place them together with correct side facing each other/down, using the tail that we left earlier, start sewing on the wrong side sew along top of the shoulder area using method of choice.

Sew the side of the top

Fold your top in half at the shoulder seam with the wrong side facing each other. Cut a new strand of yarn 20-40 inches long, enough to sew the bottom up to the armpit where we began making the upper left and right side. (check picture below )
