A relaxed fit, sleeveless crocheted top pattern for spring, summer and fall
This crocheted top pattern went through several changes before it became what you see here. It went from sleeves, to no sleeves, turtle neck to scoop neck. Now, it’s the Oversize Crochet Top 😀 No need for a catchy name.
It was another one of those zen crochet moments. As long as you keep moving forward, no matter how winding the path, you’ll end up somewhere beautiful. There just might be a lot of frogging and cursing along the way lol.
This oversize crocheted top pattern is yet another simple, beginner friendly, free project for everyone to enjoy. It’s simply two panels sewn together with some added accents. It’s a project for absolutely everyone.
It can fit a wide variety of body shapes and styles, it can be customized in several ways easily, like the color combinations and accents, and most importantly, it fits everyone’s skill level and budget.
If you’d like to purchase the printable, downloadable, ad free and down right awesome PDF version of this crocheted top pattern, you can find it on Etsy, Ravelry and Lovecrafts.com.
Thanks, and I hope you all enjoy 🙂 Happy crocheting!

Row 27( 27, 27, 31, 31, 31 ) Color A : Turn, ch 3 ( count as 1 dc ), 1 dc into each of the next 24( 27, 29, 32, 34, 37 ) st. Total of 25( 28, 30, 33, 35, 38 ) dc, cut the yarn, sk 23( 23, 25, 25, 27, 27 ) st at the middle for the neck hole opening, add new yarn into next st and then, ch 3 ( count as 1 dc ), 1 dc into next st and each st across. Total of 25( 28, 30, 33, 35, 38 ) dc, cut the yarn and weave all the ends ( Check picture below )

Join the front and back panel shoulders together
For this top I used a flat sl st to join, but you can also just use a yarn needle to sew. If you use the yarn needle to join, you’ll need to cut a new strand of yarn 15-20 inches long, enough to sew the front and back panel together at the shoulder. Make sure to sew on the wrong side of your work.
For flat sl st join, we’ll join on the right side. Turn your front and back panel right side facing up and I’ll use color B to join.
Flat sl st join Color B : Insert hook into first st bl of the back panel and then insert hook into first st bl of the front panel, grab a new yarn, YO and pull through all the loops on hook, *insert hook into next st bl of the back panel and then insert hook into next st bl of the front panel, YO and pull through all the loops on hook* rep from *to* until you reach the end. Cut the yarn and weave the end ( Check picture below )

Join the sides together
For the sides seam, I’ll also use a flat sl st to join, but you can also just use a yarn needle to sew. If you use the yarn needle to join, you’ll need to cut a new strand of yarn 30-40 inches long, enough to sew the side seam. Make sure to sew on the wrong side of your work.
For flat sl st join, we’ll join on the right side and we’ll join the end of each row of the front and back panel together ( sp for reference ), join 16( 16, 15, 19, 18, 18 ) rows, count from the bottom up and place the st marker into the end of row 16( 16, 15, 19, 18, 18 ).
Notes : In each sp make 2 flat sl st. It’s difficult to see the normal st, but just make sure that it’s not too tight and it’s even on both sides.
Flat sl st join Color B : Insert hook into first st of the back panel, insert hook into first st of the front panel, grab a new yarn, YO and pull through all the loops on hook, *insert hook into next st of the back panel, insert hook into next st of the front panel, YO and pull through all the loops on hook* rep from *to* until you reach the st marker. Do not cut the yarn yet, we’ll use the same yarn to crochet around the arm holes ( Check picture below )

Crochet around the arm holes
For the arm hole edges, we’ll use the same yarn that we used to join the side seam. We’ll crochet into the end of each row, just for round one ( sp for reference ).
Round 1 : 2 sc into each sp around ( Loosely ). Total of 44( 44, 48, 48, 52. 52 ) sc ( Check picture below )

Round 2 : 1 sc into each st around. Total of 44( 44, 48, 48, 52, 52 ) sc ( Check picture below )

Weave all the ends.
