How to Crochet 3D Flower Stitch

This weeks post is another stitch tutorial. Once you learn this 3D flower stitch, you’re going to want to use it on all your projects for a while. It’s beautiful and the way it pops is just really cool 😎 If you don’t believe me, check out this crochet 3d flower skirt 👇🏻

It’s not considered a beginner friendly stitch, but I’m going to walk you through it, so even a beginner will feel like a pro when they’re done.

There will be a video tutorial included along with written instructions, so hopefully there’s something for everyone to make this stitch happen. I plan on using this on a future project, so it will pay off to learn it now.

If you saw the insta post where I had to frog 3000 stitches, well this was the project. All those cute little flowers had to be ripped out! But, I ended up with something better in the end, and I’ll keep refining the process as I go.

BTW, you all taught me a new English term, I’d never heard it called frogging, so thank you all that commented and shared in my pain.

Hope everyone enjoys this one, happy crocheting! I know we can all use some relaxation time right about now. If you want a bigger project to work one, you might like to try this Poncho Summer Top. If you need something small to work on, try this crochet basket collection, it’s very beginner friendly.

I’m using Bernat Handicrafter Cotton yarn for the following instructions

Stitches Use & Code

  • ch = chain
  • st = stitch(es)
  • dc = double crochet
  • REP = repeat
  • sp = space
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • RS = right side
  • WS = wrong side
  • 3D fl = 3D flower stitch

Notes :

  • This 3D flower stitch pattern is in multiples of 10 + 1 ch
  • This 3D flower stitch pattern is a 4 rows repeat ( Row 2 – 5 )
  • This 3D flower stitch pattern can use in row or round. For the following written instructions, I’m going to make in a row
  • For the following written instructions, I’m using 1 color but you can use multiple colors. I recommend to change color on the 3D flower row

For the following written instructions, I’ll show you how to crochet the 3D fl st first because I want you to understand how to make the 3D fl st and then I’ll show you how to crochet the full written pattern ( All are in the post below )
