A lightweight, packable sun hat perfect for summer adventures.
After the positive response to the original wide-brim raffia crochet sun hat pattern, I had many people ask about a shorter brim for a more compact version.

Whether it’s for easier packing, a subtler style, or personal preference, this short-brim raffia sun hat offers the same elegance as the original with added versatility.

I’d love to know which one is your favorite, the wider brim or shorter brim? The wider brim picture is down below.

What I think makes for a great crochet or knitting pattern is having the ability the play around with it.
You of course want the certainty of a pattern, knowing if you follow the directions you will end up with just what you where after.
Being able to take the same pattern and turn it into several distinctly unique pieces is what I hoped for with this raffia crochet sun hat pattern.
I would love to hear how everyone else made out with this pattern. Any cool new variations to share with us?
