Crochet Crop Sweater Pattern (Beginner Friendly & Free!)

I’m just put the finishing touches on this crochet crop sweater pattern for everyone to try out, YAY!

It’s coming in at the last minute of the deadline, but better almost late than never 🙂

It’s a loose fitting crop top sweater pattern but it can be adjusted to fit more snug and can be made full length, or longer if you like. It has a fun little v puff stitch detail on the front that I love.

If you’d like to have the downloadable PDF pattern, it’s available for purchase on all my seller channels, such as Etsy, Ravelry, and LoveCrafts.

Hope you’re all having a great fall, see you next time. Until then, happy crocheting 🙂

Maybe you’re not feeling the crochet crop sweater pattern. If you’d prefer a lacy summer crochet project, I think you may like this Crochet Relaxed Fit Sweater/Dress or Crochet V-Neck Summer Blouse

Joining the pieces together

Sew the front and back panel together

Place your panel right side facing down. We’ll sew on the wrong side, using the tails that we left earlier. Use which ever method you prefer to sew. ( check picture below )

Sew the sleeves to the sweater

Lay your top correct side facing down. Place your sleeves correct side facing down and start sewing on the wrong side with your tail again. The shoulder seam of the main panel should be in the middle of the sleeves and even on both sides. ( check picture below )

Sew the sweater together

Fold your sweater in half at the shoulder seam. Cut a new strand of yarn 50 – 60 inches long, enough to sew the bottom side and sleeve. Start sewing from the bottom up to the side seam until you reach the armpit and continue sewing the sleeve side seam until you reach the cuff of the sleeve. Cut the yarn and weave the end. Hi, I have just found this pattern, I love the jumper, Just wondering how easy it would be to convert it into a cardigan without the little heart detail on the front.... I shall have a good look when I get five mins to self :) Im at an age where I need to get wooly warm things off in seconds.. :/ otherwise I melt, so cardigan would be much better for me. :)

Hello Jayne, I could make some recommendations on redesigning it, but I think I could save you the head ache by checking out some of my other cardigans and lighter tops that won't melt you. You mention the heart detail in the front, but I think you're commenting on a different design. Take a look around when you have time, I'm sure you will find something that suits you. Hope that helps, take care.
