Crochet Basket collection with the CSC stitch

This crochet basket was requested quite a bit from the reverse single crochet tutorial. I used the reverse single crochet for the edging. I think it’s a great little crochet project because you get to practice your basic skills easily, it doesn’t require much yarn and you have something useful to show for it with just a little time invested.

I decided to make a crochet basket collection rather than one small size. I like to give you options on how your projects turn out, if you haven’t noticed. Give people options and let them grow.

This crochet basket tutorial is using the center single crochet stitch I posted last week, so if you missed that tutorial, just hit the link for a quick refresher.

I used Sheepjes stone washed XL for this project, but any #4 medium weight yarn and size 4mm hook will do the job. You can experiment with any size hook and yarn as well, but the measurements will differ from this pattern.

I will say, when making pieces to practice, use cheap yarn. If you’re making something to keep and use, which I hope is the goal, don’t skimp on the yarn. Hope you enjoy!

It’s a really fun little project. Great for getting your children involved in the fibre arts as well as selling at craft fairs. Whatever your crochet journey, happy crocheting!
